Our bold social enterprise and sustainability strategy, sets out our mission to save endangered culturesby reinventing the way we present cultures and the way we shop cultural products.
Built on five themes:
1. Exploring new business and collaborative model with cultural organisations and partners
2. Manufacturing products with sustainable and eco-friendly materials
3. Sourcing from suppliers based in culture-rich but impoverished or poverty regions
4. Planning and organising saving international endangered culture cooperation projects
5. Collaborate with cultural organisations from the places seeking for transformation to pollution-free industries
The story goes back to the hometown of Beingburg’s founder Shanxi province (China), which is famous as the No.1 coal producer in China. However, only a few people know Shanxi meanwhile is a great cultural province whose amount of overground cultural relics ranks No.1, accounting for 80% of all in China.
Unfortunately, its tourism industry is still underdeveloped with issues of regional poverty due to theproblems of talent resource. As the greatest cultural province, it has enormous potential to builda prosperous and sustainable economy, but as the biggest coal producer it still relies heavily on highly polluting industries. More seriously, more and more undeveloped cultures are unprotected and in dangerous of break.
A major part of our design inspiration is from these cultures, and their representative organisations are our main business partners. Those in Shanxi are just part of hidden treasures we are dedicated to carry forward and bring to people’s life.
